Introduction of Kenya Advance Cargo Declaration (ACD) System
The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced the launch of the Advance Cargo Declaration (ACD) , a digital pre-arrival cargo declaration for all containerized cargo destined for Kenyan ports.
The ACD will become mandatory on 3 August 2026 (BL date).
Effective from this date, exporters shipping containerised cargo to Kenya must obtain an ACD number .
The following documents are required to obtain the ACD:
- Draft Bill of Lading
- Commercial Invoice
- Freight Invoice
- Export Declaration
The ACD number must be mentioned on the Bill of Lading.
